Also for the month of June, The American Legion Department of Maine State Convention was held in Bangor on June 18th, 19th, and th 20th. New Department officers were elected with Dan Ayotte being elected as Department Commander for the upcoming year. On June 27th, the Post hosted its first Blue Star Banner ceremony to honor local military families and service members. The Town of Topsham presented a proclamation designating June 27th, 2010 as Topsham Blue Star Salute Day. The Post was also presented a Legislative Sentiment from Maine State Senator Seth Goodall, representing the 124th Maine State Legislature, as being "recognized for its outstanding efforts in supporting those serving in the Armed Forces of the United States through the American Legion Blue Star Program". Thank you to all who made this possible. |

From the 1st Vice Commander :
Again, thanks for all the volunteer help on Post projects, grounds maintenance and special events. I would like to remind members and their guests that personal trash should not be left in the parking lor or on the grounds and, except for authorized events, alcohol is not allowed outside past the deck area. We are finding cans and cups on the grounds and around the building. Take pride in your Post and place trash in the provided receptacles. Thanks. |
